Vocal Lessons & Worship Training

Joannie Chiu is a great vocal teacher. I was classically trained in piano for over 10 years and met many unyielding and exacting teachers. While their natures pushed me and challenged me, they did not provide the nurturing environment I needed to learn and dedicate myself to the craft. Joannie's style of teaching is with grace and understanding. She is encouraging and understanding, which leads to productivity and confidence, some of the most key things needed to improve. She has taught me to believe in my voice, and that is the most special thing I have learned from her.

My husband and I both took singing lessons from Joannie. 

First impressions to us:

- she is very pleasant and easy going,  which makes us very comfortable and relaxed.

Teaching experiences:

- she had taught singing classes to individuals before as well as teaching to groups in workshops. She has extensive teaching experiences

Technical & teaching style

-she has her own curriculum and teaching materials

-she would first access the students singing level and then customized her class to the student

-she's very flexible to our needs, and adjustable to our learning requests

Soft skills:

-very patient and reasonable expectation of our learning progress

-very down-to-earth and help us to feel very comfortable

Willingness to go extra mile: 

- I always wanted to learn singing the song I Will always Love You by Whitney Houston. I asked her if she can record her own singing of the song to me so I can listen and learn as a reference. She immediately send me her recordings shortly after. 

Conclusion:

Joanne is definitely a very great experienced singing teacher. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is seriously interested in sharpening their singing techniques.
